Growing up in the Metropolitan New York area, the State’s commercial anthem of “I love New York,” encouraging people from all over America to consider New York State for their next vacation, was permanently etched into the psyche of an entire generation.

Combined with another spot for the Milford Plaza Hotel, the pair of commercials became a virtual anthem for TV watching elementary youth of the early 80’s in the Tri-State Area (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut). Even now, some 30 years later, I find myself humming the tunes every time I land at JFK Airport or take a taxi to midtown Manhattan, astounded by what the mind chooses to remember and the fact that there once was a time when you could get a hotel room in New York City for $43!

If you have not been to New York, recently or ever, it really is an incredible place for business and recreation. As my colleague at RW-3 CultureWizard, Amanda Ward, writes in the latest issue of Mobility Magazine, from the international business epicenter that is Manhattan to the lakes of the Adirondacks and beaches of the Hamptons, the New York offers a wealth of treasures and attractions. Culturally, too, New York is home to a vast array of immigrants and expats from every corner of the globe, making it a great place for business and pleasure.

Love to hear from our readers. What do you love about New York? Any recommendations for others visiting?
